English Speakers in Mexico

If you are an English speaker living in Mexico, and are not proficient enough to read in Spanish, I have good news. You can now get the version in English of a masterpiece by Carlos Fuentes (in my opinion the best Mexican writer) called "The years with Laura Diaz" (Los Años con Laura Diaz in Spanish) I got it and the best, for only 39.00 Mexican pesos, something like 3.90 usd!!! That is amazing, considering that this is an excellent book, hardcover edition and if you are thinking about getting to know a little bit more about Mexico, this story is definitely for you. In this wonderful novel, Fuentes brings voices from the past, teaching us about important, very important and relevant dates that changed Mexico, making it become what it is now. So, yes, it is worth reading if you, as a foreigner need to understand more about Mexico and mexicans, and the most interesting way of doing it is definitely through Fuentes´ writing, full of details and with a thorough knowledge of history and his worlwide known writers´ magic, a combination of skills, language domain and art.



Anyone who wants to be considered a good reader, must read The years with Laura Diaz either in English or in Spanish.



I bow before Carlos Fuentes, by far the best writer in Latinamerica.
