Books for Children

Today it is turn to recommend some wonderful books for children. If you are a parent and would like your children to develop and increase their good habit of reading, the pleasure of looking at beautiful illustrations or simply, as an adult would like to enjoy great short stories with wonderful art in them, this is a list of five really worthy books:
The adventures of a nose, by Viviane Schwarz. Great story, great pictures! and a very positive and simple message. There is a place for everyone and everything in this world!
Mummy never told me, by Babette Cole. What else can I say? Even though she has been challenged in some school libraries, Cole is a very good writer for children and the message is this: D-i-v-e-r-s-i-t-y.
Matilda, who told such dreadful lies and was burned to death, by Hilaire Belloc. Despite of the scary title, this is a masterpiece, even for adults. Children love it and understand the consequences that Matilda had to face, the pictures are awesome and the story is like a rhyme or poem. Very british style!
Voices in the park, by Anthony Brown. The illustrations are a masterpiece, the story is wonderful to teach different points of view and opinions about the same situation.
So far from the sea, by Eve Bunting. What a wonderful way of approaching a shameful episode in history with a different opinion. Highly recommended!

Well parents, if you have a chance, get these for your children and share a wonderful family time, with high quality reading. Enjoy!
